Can I stay in downtown Chicago and still attend?

Yes! Lake Forest is accessible by hourly trains running from Chicago's Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center. The train ride from downtown Chicago to Lake Forest usually takes 57 minutes. The last train from Lake Forest to Chicago usually departs around 10:50 PM on Saturdays, but please check schedules when making your travel plans.

The drive from downtown Chicago to Lake Forest typically takes between 40 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Please plan your route accordingly.

How's the weather?

June temperatures in Lake Forest tend to be comfortable with gentle breezes and warm afternoons. High temperatures usually fall in the mid-70s F early in the month, warming into the low 80s F at the end of the month.

May I bring kids or pets?

Pets are not allowed at the wedding festivities. People of all ages are welcome at our ceremony, however, we kindly request that no individuals under the age of 18 attend our reception.

Should I get to the ceremony early?

Yes! Please plan to arrive to the Church of St. Mary 15 minutes before the ceremony begins at 3:00 PM. The church will open to guests at 2:45 PM, if not earlier.

What should I wear?

We ask that guests of the ceremony and reception on Saturday, June 15 dress in formal attire. Depending on your preference, we suggest tuxedos, dark suits, long or midi dresses/skirts, or formal jumpsuits. Please choose shoes that you are comfortable wearing outside and on short grass (avoid stilettos).

Guests attending the welcome reception on Friday, June 14 may dress in dressy casual attire. Those attending the farewell lunch on Sunday, June 16 may dress in casual attire.

What if I have accessibility needs?

Please indicate your accessibility needs when you RSVP by May 1. We will follow up with additional information prior to the big day.

What if my plans change after submitting my RSVP?

You can modify your response via the RSVP tab on this website anytime before May 1, 2024. If your plans change after the RSVP deadline, please contact Claire and Luke at ThePosniewskis@Gmail.com.

What is your photo policy?

Please plan to keep your phones silenced and out of sight until the end of the ceremony. Otherwise, we invite you to take and post as many pictures as you’d like throughout our wedding festivities!

What kind of food and drinks will be served?

The reception's cocktail hour will feature passed hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Then, guests will enjoy a plated dinner with their choice of beef tenderloin, grilled branzino, or wild mushroom cavatelli. A vegan option is also available upon request. Please indicate entree choice(s) with your RSVP.

Those attending the welcome reception on Friday, June 14 will be served desserts as well as assorted alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Guests attending the farewell lunch on Sunday, June 16 will enjoy casual lunch, brunch, and dessert options from some of the couple's favorite local food vendors.

Will shuttles be available?

Yes! Shuttle service will begin following the ceremony. The shuttles will take guests from the ceremony to the reception, picking up from the Church of St. Mary as well as the St. James parking lot.

Following the reception, shuttles will take guests to the St. James parking lot and after party. There will be a single shuttle available at the end of the night to take guests from the after party to the hotels included in the room blocks.

Will the ceremony be streamed?

Yes! If you’re unable to attend in-person, you can still celebrate from afar by tuning in from 3:00-4:00 p.m. CT for a live stream of Claire and Luke's marriage ceremony. Please visit the stream tab of this website for the link.

Will we be outside?

The ceremony will be held indoors. The reception will be a hybrid indoor-outdoor experience, if weather permits. Spaces will be covered in the event of rain. We recommend choosing attire that you are comfortable wearing outside.
